Lesson One: Revolution! Now Available as NOOK Book

As of today, you can get Lesson One: Revolution! for the Nook reader. Just stop by the Barnes & Noble site to get your copy, for under $5. This is my first book to prepare for the Nook, and now that I've done one, I can see that any future e-book titles I self-publish should probably be set up for the Nook first. This means formatting it as an ePub file, which I can then also submit directly to Amazon for the Kindle version.

Changes and Updates

I haven't been blogging much lately, but I want to share a few quick updates...

  • I haven't delved into writing zombie stories, but if you like them, you should check out the "vote your own adventure" story that Mark Lidstone is doing on his site. Not only can you help decide how the story takes shape, by voting after each chapter is posted, but you can win prizes — and one of those prizes might be a copy of Lesson One: Revolution! for the Kindle!

10 Ways To Defeat Obscurity

I don't expect either of my self-published books to become "best sellers." Sure, it would be nice, but expecting it would not be realistic. However, I would love for either of them to rise up from the typical self-published obscurity! Inspired by former Kodak CMO Jeff Hayzlett's 12+ Things You Can Do to Make "The Mirror Test" a Best Seller, the following is a list of 10 Things You Can Do to Raise Two Boys, Two Planets From Obscurity!

Barnes & Noble Now Carrying Two Boys, Two Planets

I noticed today that Barnes & Noble is finally offering my recently-published children's book, Two Boys, Two Planets, on their Web site. So if you prefer Barnes & Noble for your book shopping, please take a look! If you buy it (or even read a copy owned by somebody else), please consider posting a review. I've been surprised at how difficult it has been to get reviews for this book, as I thought it would be easier than getting reviews of my novel (Lesson One: Revolution! — also available via Barnes & Noble). After all, it only takes a few minutes to read Two Boys, Two Planets if you're reading at a casual pace, whereas it will take much longer to read the novel even if you're reading quickly.

Donation Offer to Benefit Local School

Yes, it's time for another donation offer! :) Back in November, I offered that for every copy sold of Lesson One: Revolution! I would donate $1 to the Office of Letters and Light (the non-profit organization that runs NaNoWriMo and Script Frenzy). This time, the focus is on my newly-published children's book, Two Boys, Two Planets. Deadline extended! For every copy sold through January 31, 2011, I will donate $1 to a local elementary school.
