Tweet Your Progress in Words

Use this form to easily "Tweet" your current (or recent) word-count progress in NaNoWriMo*. You must have an account on Twitter for this to work, and it helps if you're logged in first! This tool will just pass you off to Twitter to complete your "tweet" so it does not need your Twitter username or password.

Note: This tool relies on the word-count API of the NaNoWriMo site. If you experience errors, please try again, or contact Stuart (see the link below) to report the problem.

* NaNoWriMo is an annual writing event, in which you are challenged to write a novel in the month of November. The name stands for National Novel Writing Month, although now it's really an international event. NaNoWriMo does not put writers in competition with each other, they're only in competition with the calendar (and when it comes to November 30, the clock). Always wanted to write a book? Think you can manage about 1700 words per day, to reach the goal of 50,000 words in November? Sign up now and take advantage of the community support that helps guide (and pressure!) you toward winning.

The creator of this tool, Stuart J. Whitmore, is a NaNoWriMo participant and the author of Lesson One: Revolution! which was started as his NaNoWriMo project in 2009. He self-published that book the following year, and it is available in print from many stores and as an e-book on Amazon. You can find out more about that book and his other books by clicking on his name.

This tool will try to use an HTTP Cookie to store your user ID and time zone selection, but you can defeat that bit of convenience if you so choose.
