My 100-Copy Goal

A well-known author can probably sell 100 or more copies of an as-yet-unpublished novel within the first 24 hours of their book becoming available for pre-order through Amazon.com. I'm at the other end of the spectrum, however. I'm an "unknown" author — my friends and family know about my writings, but that's about it so far. My new novel, Lesson One: Revolution!, is self-published (print-on-demand), which means I don't have a big publisher's marketing department to promote the book. To give my own "marketing" effort a specific, measurable goal, I decided to aim for selling 100 copies before the end of the year. That's my 100-copy goal, and you can help! (And maybe earn some money at the same time...)

Here are a few ways you can help, starting with the one where you can earn some money:

  • If you are an Amazon.com Associate (or you sign up for their Associate program now), you can promote my book and earn money on every copy sold. To simplify setting up Associate links, the ISBN for the book is: 1453674543
  • If you're one of my Facebook friends, you can click the "Share" link on any of the posts I've made there about my novel, to extend the visibility of that post to your other friends.
  • If you're on Twitter, you can "re-tweet" any of my updates about the book.
  • If you've read the book, you can post a review on Amazon.com or other online retailer that sells the book. It doesn't have to be a glowing review, just your honest thoughts.
  • You can mention the book to your family, friends, neighbors, blog readers....
  • Of course, you can also buy a copy of the book, for yourself or as a gift for someone else.

I don't know if it's likely or even possible to reach this goal, but there's only one way to find out! And if you do help me, I offer in advance my sincere thanks!
